What does a safety pin on the shoe mean?

I know a person who wears a safety pin on their shoe. It%26#039;s at the bottom of the shoe where it laces up on the lace. It%26#039;s not holding anything together, it%26#039;s just pinned to the lace.

I%26#039;m just wondering if this is an %26quot;advertisement%26quot; of some kind. Like sexual or drug related??

I don%26#039;t think any Sports or Outfitter shop in Singapore would carry these, I mean, where is the market....80 km from the equator...?

The nearest place I can imagine is New Zealand....

Better buy through the Internet

What shoes do you suggest for basketball? Not players wise but safety wise and stuff like that?

Definitely not flip-flops.

Get you some high-tops or mid-tops with great support around the ankle. Also, If you can push the back of the shoe just above where the sole connects to the shoe itself, and it gives, don%26#039;t buy - it%26#039;s not supported. It needs to have a firm back.

Also make sure it fits. It%26#039;s not fun having bruised toes/toe nails for the next month.

I will leave some tacks inside my shoes and let that bastard scream! That will give them away!................lol
Reply:I steal my girlfriend%26#039;s thongs all the time.....I do return them to her though once it comes time to do the laundry. hehe
Reply:Excellent idea! I wish I had thought about that before.
Reply:Thongs ain.t my thing, but I have over 800 patrs of shoes, lost count so it would be difficult to take those without being noticed.
Reply:Hummmmm I couldn%26#039;t say I have.
Reply:lol... No but I remembered once I had ran inside my house (I was outside) cos there was this really creepy guy coming and I left my shoes outside. I was like %26quot;don%26#039;t take my shoes!%26quot; and I started crying, and the shoes were cheap! lmfao.
Reply:Thongs no, But shoes yes... You cant even take them off for a second cus they magically disappear in thin air.
Reply:now that%26#039;s stupid, spend $5 on a lock to try and keep a ((cent pair of shoes that i could take anyway.

Bastids.
Reply:My cat used to steal my socks and sleep with his head in them.

Sometimes I couldn%26#039;t find enough to wear to work.

Sounds dumb but buying socks taking me broke: how do you prevent steel toed shoes from wearing holes in toes?

No matter what I do (thick socks, reinforced toes, cotton nylon vs. cotton only, etc) my steel toed safety shoes wear a hole in my socks on BOTH feet in the big toe area. I%26#039;ve even tried tennis shoe style steel toed shoes (to see if shoe style/type made a difference) and the same thing happens. Is it something you just live with (like dropping toast and having it land butter side down on the floor) or is there a solution? And, no, I do not have long toenails (gross) - I keep them short and maintained. I%26#039;ve talked with co-workers and they have the same problem but didn%26#039;t think anyone else did so lived with it in silence. This is getting expensive in that it occurs rather fast and so you really get no life out of the socks before they need repair; or need to be pitched. Until I was required to wear them I didn%26#039;t know there could be a problem with safety boots/shoes besides additional weight.

Have you tried doubling up on the socks?

Also, hate to say it, but go to the dollar store to buy your socks. At least it will be cheaper.
Reply:I have the same problem as well as holes in the heel. The only solution for me is to wear high-quality %26quot;footie%26quot; socks (like runner%26#039;s socks) underneath cheap pair of crew socks. I might have to try the nylon thing.
Reply:Wow! I never had this problem when wearing such shoes. What if you got a roll of medical tape and put some on your big toes and wore the socks with the holes in them? The toe would be covered and you won%26#039;t be going broke buying new socks every ten minutes.
Reply:I know it sounds kinda funny, but try using a pair of womens panty hose. The ones that just go up your calve, not the full set! (lol) I%26#039;ve worked in the steel industry most of my life, and this seems to work pretty good for me.

NOTE: Will also help to keep your feet warm in the winter.

It may not totally take care of this problem, but it should make your socks last a little longer. Wear the panty hose on the outside of the sock.
